The Ministry of Health has on Saturday July 11 reported 7 new Covid-19 cases— extending Uganda’s cumulative infections to 1,013.
Of the new cases, 5 are community infections including 3 from Amuru and 2 from Kasese and Tororo while the 2 are truck drivers from Malaba.
Additionally, 25 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted, the ministry added.

The East African Community (EAC) secretariat on Friday July 10 handed over two mobile laboratories to Uganda in an effort to increase diagnostic capacities for COVID-19.
The laboratories are part of a German – East African development cooperation project to establish a network of mobile labs for diagnoses of epidemic diseases across the six EAC Member States.
The two laboratories, which were ceremoniously commissioned at the Ministry of Health in Kampala, have been deployed to Adjumani and Malaba.
Officials said they will strengthen Uganda’s testing capacities at the country’s borders.
