Kampala: Uganda bans Kaveera, all other plastics

Factories making plastics and Kaveera in Uganda other dealers are living in a period of uncertainty after a directive prohibiting same is issued on Wednesday, February 26 by State Minister for Environment Beatrice Anywar

The Minister has banned the manufacturing imports, use and sale of single-use plastic items in the country’s latest step to protect the environment.

The directive comes into force with immediate effect.

Directive targets plastic bags, cups, straws, coffee stirrers, soda and water bottles, and most food packaging materials that pose a threat to the environment.
